1974 VW 1200 “Sparkäfer”

A classic Beetle with a unique twist. This 1974 VW 1200 “Sparkäfer” has been fully restored and tastefully modified, combining the iconic Type 1 shape with a bold custom look and several mechanical upgrades.

🔎 Why it’s special
While the Beetle itself is already a true icon, this version takes things further with custom paint, wide fiberglass wings, Porsche Fuchs wheels and a very clean overall finish. It’s the kind of build that attracts both VW purists and fans of classic custom styling.

🧠 For the nerds
Power comes from a 1600 cc engine producing around 75 hp, paired with dual Solex 40/44 carburetors, front disc brakes, narrowed front beam, dropped spindles, and 5x130 running gear. The engine was rebuilt in late 2024 with new cylinders, pistons and cylinder heads. The name “Sparkäfer” references the simpler 1200 Beetle variants once sold on selected European markets.
